Zambia: Kafue NP – Game Drives
Kafue National Park is another gem of the Zambian protected reserves, this one located in the central Zambia along the Kafue River. It’s the largest national park in Zambia, the size of the entire atate of Massachusetts. It’s mostly woodland, so wildlife spotting is a bit more difficult, but determined game driving yields results – puku antelopes (found only here), hartbeests, impala, water bucks, grysbock (tiny cute antelope), kudu, elephants, yellow baboons and vervet monkeys, and loads and loads of singing cicadas. We even got lucky and saw sable antelopes, three times! Zambia sable antelope is one of the four subspecies of the sable antelope and quite rare to see, given how timid and shy the animal is.
