Zimbabwe: Hwange NP – Giraffes at Sinamatella Area
The open grasslands of the Sinamatella area also had many giraffes roaming around, going from tree to tree and drinking water from ponds (often in awkward positions trying to get that head down from high and to the the ground). The species of giraffe here is the Southern Giraffe – they have generally lighter colors and kind of smudgy spots. There were also several small baby giraffes which didn’t stray far from their mothers – it’s the wet season here and babies are popping all over the place (kind of like in the British royal family).
