Cameroon: Limbe
There is nothing to see or do in Douala, Cameroon’s major commercial site and international airport. So you head north to the ultra-picturesque seaside town on Limbe. Limbe was the capital of the German Kamerun for most of the 19th century and bears many remnants of German colonial history (like quality construction). The location of Limbe is also spectacular is it located in a bowl beneath high mountains and the towering Mt Cameroon itself. The old town near the water has stunning black sand beaches as well as distant views of oil platforms in the open ocean. Driving up the surrounding hillls, you can get multiple panoramic views of the entire town, also equally spectacular.
