Called “The Nest”, the observation tower is 28 m (92 ft) high and was specifically build for the viewing of birds and other wildlife. It’s just beneath the Arenal Volcano and in the heart of pristine primary rainforest. “The Nest” offers unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities. As you climb the 146 stairs to the top, the tower sways under you and it’s not for the faint-hearted. At the top, you are above the canopy and the bird spotting and monkey spotting is fantastic here – monkeys, toucans, parrots, orapendulas, woodpeckers, eagles more. Plus you get an incredible 360 degree panoramas of Arenal Volcano, Arenal Lake, Cerro Chato, and the Tilaran Mountain Range.
