Cuba: Matanzas

Matanzas is a sleepy provincial capital in the center of Cuba. Known as the Athens of Cuba, it is famous for poets and the Sauto theater (one of the best provincial theaters in the country). The town also has 17 bridges spanning the three rivers, with several bridges being hundreds years old. Strolling around town revealed beautiful colonial building and a general feel of travelling back in time .
