Cuba: Havana – Hotel Nacional de Cuba

This hotel is the most famous hotel in Cuba and is itself a UNESCO Heritage site. It is rated 5-stars (although the rooms hardly are), and is filled with history – countless monarchs, heads of states, presidents, actors, celebrities of all sorts – all stayed here. It was build in 1930 in the Vedado district of Havana on a hill overlooking the water and Malecon below. Tourists flock in hundreds to touch the history, enjoy a mojito, or a Cuban cigar with a glass of 15-year old rum, while sitting on the spectacular outside terraces.
