France: Mont St Michel at Night

Nothing can compare to seeing Mont St Michel after sunset or at night. It’s just plain incredible and beyond description – seen from faraway and up close. The light illuminates the island, the town, and the Abbey – a grand mysterious castle in the sea of darkness. What’s more – you can actually go run around the town at night (when everything is deserted) and explore the cobblestone staircases and ramparts and towers. These pics are from a couple of nights – amazingly, it was also full moon and both Venus and Jupiter were together and bright in the sunset sky!
