Gabon: Port Gentil
Port Gentil is a short 40 minutes flight from Libreville as it is not connected by road. It is the oil and timber capital of Gabon – acting as the center for both offshore and land platform drilling. It’s a dusty small town with no attractions sans a somewhat interesting fish market and a pretty waterfront with the views of oil platforms in the distance. Port Gentil is a gateway to Gabon’s wilderness and remote national parks in the south of the country near the Congo border.
