Ghana: Paga Crocodiles

The village of Pago has a pond outside it that has 60 Nile crocodiles that live in it. The crocodiles are considered sacred and are basically domesticated. People constantly bring chicken and goat sacrifices to the crocs and the crocs more or less don’t attack humans. People come to do laundry, wash, and swim in the lake. The admission fee here including you buying a chicken and posing with and on a large crocodile with a wide open jaw. Afterwards, the croc devours the chicken. End of show! A win for the community, you, and the croc.
