Iceland: Moss Lava Fields
As you drive through southern Iceland, there are miles and miles of lava flows. Older ones are covered in knee deep moss, and are truly spectacular. Hiking over the moss-covered rocks, you sink knee deep in the soft moss. With loads of crevices, caves, and holes, it’s a virtual fairy tale maze of soft pillow-like ground.
