Israel: Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea
Gulf of Aqaba forms the northern part of the Red Sea. Here, within just 40km of the shoreline, 4 countries have access to the sea – Egypt, Israel, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Naturally, this small land strips are packed with resorts and vacationers. From the Israeli town of Eilat, you can see the Jordanian town of Aqaba just next door and further out across the narrow gulf. The diving is supposed to be spectacular here, although the shore dive from Eilat wasn’t anything special, some wrecks and corrals/fish, but not mind-blowing.
