Italy: Rome – Vittoriano
Il Vittoriano aka Monument to Victor Emmanuel II aka Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland) is a massive memorial building in the heart of Rome dedicated to Victo Emmanuel, the first king of the unified Italy. The structure was built between 1911-1925. The humongous building is adorned with statues and columns and you can also get onto the rooftop (more columns here) for panoramic views of the entire city of Rome.
