Lord Howe Island: Fishing for Trevally

The crystal clear lagoon and reef edge just beg for a fishing trip – and fishing is so easy here: you drop your lure and you literally see giant trevally bite it underwater. Then several minutes of exciting fighting and reeling the big fish follow. Trevally are large fast-swimming predator fish that are closely related to jack. They bite aggressively, right around sunset, when lateral rays of sunlight highlight their pray for them. A couple hours of fishing (most of the bites wishing just 30 minutes of sunset), and I got myself a dinner, later grilled to perfection. Teach a man to fish…..
