North Ossetia: Fiagdon Valley
The vast valley around the Fiagdon Valley is a stunning panorama of mountain peak (with even higher mountain peaks behind the clouds). The landscape is full of old watch towers rising guard at high points of every hill and mountaintop. This all looks like a scene from Lord of The Rings, except its all real and was used by people for millennia. The scenery is also quite diverse – besides mountains and watchtowers there are forests and deep river gorges with river bubbling hundreds of feet below! And there was a Stalin painting in a mountain wall…
