Peru: Cusco – Plaza de Armas

Plaza de Armas is the central and main rectangular square in Cusco and the center of life. A gleaming monument to an Inca king stands in the middle while two important catholic churches – Cusco Cathedral and Iglesia La Compañía de Jesus stand in one corner. The plaza is surrounded by old colonial building that are full of restaurants and travel agencies and shops. The plaza is constantly booming with activity, with hundreds of tourists, touts, and locals vying for the space under the sun.
