Ukraine: Zaporozhian Sich

Next region of Ukraine – Zaporizhia – and the main attraction here is without a doubt: Zaporozhian Sich. Zaporozhian Sich refers to an autonomous state of the Ukrainian Cossacks in the 17-19th centuries centered around the present day town of Zaporozhya in southern Ukraine, along the Dnepr River. Here, Zaporozhian Sich is a national park on the island of Khortytsia in the middle of Dnepr River with a restored wooden fortress and spectacular wooden church inside as well as other buildings describing the old times of the Sich. Besides all the historical stuff, there are spectacular views of the river and the damn of the DneproGES electric power station.
