USA/OK: Tallgrass Prairie Preserve – Wildflowers
The Tallgrass Prairie Preserve boasts an astounding 755 plant species, many unique and endemic to the tallgrass prairie habitat (betwen 50-90% are endemic depending on areas). Texas bluebells, Harlequin blueflag (iris), White penstemon, Prairie phlox, Meadow blazinstar, Pink-flowered onion, Prairie Larkspur are among the species that stand out. And perhaps the most spectacular is the Showy evening primrose, opening its huge white flowers just before the sun goes down.
