USA/WV: Blackwater Falls
Blackwater Falls cascade 60 feet down the sandstone ledges of the Blackwater River in central West Virginia. Blackwater River was named for the dark colors of its waters, rich with tannic acid from fallen hemlock and red spruce needles. Several observation platform provide with good viewpoints of the falls.
