Vietnam: Hanoi – Exploring the City

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and a metropolis of 7 million people. It’s busy and hectic and seemingly everyone is riding a motorbike – swarms of riders take over every street and alley. There’s a lot to see in Hanoi just roaming around the hot and humid streets. The very center has the Imperial Citadel, and not far is the Ba Dinh Square with administrative buildings, the Presidential Palace, and the Ho Chi Min Mausoleum, as well as the National Assembly. Not far is the Statue of Lenin in a rather desolate park. Plenty of communist propaganda and posters and billboards throughout the city. There are also two prominent lake – West Lake in the north, and a much more crowded Hoan Kiem Lake in the south. A lot to explore and people watch.
