Western Sahara: El Marsa Beach

The beach at El Marsa, a small town about 20 km west of Laayoune, the capital of Western Sahara is picture perfect – green Atlantic Ocean lapping the golden sands for miles and miles, with no people, no hotels, no development. Here and there, you can find shipwrecks close to shore. Camels graze on the plants close to the coastline. Surreal?
