Mauritania: Port de Peche (Fishing Beach)

This was the most amazing place in Mauritania – hundreds of colorful boats going out to the Atlantic Ocean and back with a variety of fish catch. The fish is dumped on the beach sand and sorted, then gutted and cleaned a little further, and the marketplace is right here as well. The colors of sky, sea, boats, people’s clothes are just amazing, as is the cultural experience of walking around all this (likely being the only tourist in weeks). The smell and hygiene wasn’t as spectacular as the rest of the senses, but the frenetic pace of the place and the visual overloads were awesome
