USA/AZ: Flora of the Grand Canyon
There are 1737 species of plants in the Grand Canyon given the 8000 feet in elevation change from bottom to the rim-tops – the habitats change from riverine near Colorodo River to desert full of cacti and aloe to pinyon pine and juniper forest to ponderosa pine forest to alpine. The cacti diversity was exceptionally impressive with over a dozen species along the trail.
