USA/UT: Capitol Reef NP – Lower Cathedral Valley

Lower Cathedral Valley is a little-visited area of the Capitol Reef National Park, that lies to the north of the main road passing through the park. The valley has several large sandstone monoliths or cathedrals, almost reminiscent of Egyptian pyramids. Two of the largest towers are Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon. The cathedrals consist of Entrada sandstone in various shades of red to orange. You are likely to have the entire area to yourself and explore and climb the towers at your own pace and adventure.
