Thailand: Koh Samui – Big Buddha & Wat Plai Laem Temple
Next – Koh Samui island… Whike Koh Samui is a beach destination, there are several interesting cultural attractions like the Big Buddha & Wat Plai Laem Temple. The 12m/35ft high Big Buddha sits on a hill on the northern coast and overlooks the beautiful coastline. Not far is the Wat Plai Laem Temple that actually has several temple building, all with various Buddhas. There is also a massive statue of Guanyin – the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion.
