Austral Islands/Rurutu: Driving Around the Island
Rurutu is about 35km in circumference but it takes about 3 hours to get around by the coastal road – stopping in all three villages, checking out the small tarp farmland, many viewpoints on hilltops, and getting out to the small but very picturesque beaches. Another road runs through the middle of the island, steep up and steep down, and stupidly enough I chose to do this one by bike.
