Socotra: Wadi Dirhur Canyon
Descending steeply from the high elevation plateau of the Diksam National Park (where the dragon blood trees grow), you get into the bottom of a spectacular canyon called Wadi Dirhur. A stream run through the canyon creating many absolutely spectacular pools and waterfall – an awesome place to swim in the sweltering heat of the day. Date palms grow closer to the water, while bizarre bottle trees and other Avatar-like flora covers the steep rocky canyon slopes. Fantastic hikes along the stream take you several km upstream with green pools and swimming holes abound along the way.
