Socotra: Sunset on Diksam Plateau
Diksam Plateau is in the center of Socotra at a significant elevation between 2000-3000 feet. Here, you get the highest concentration of the iconic dragon blood trees that are the most recognized symbol of the island (in fact, it’s featured on the Yemeni coins). There are hundreds and maybe thousands of dragon blood trees here and the best time to witness this is during the sunset with silhouettes of the umbrella-like trees set against the red sun or glowing in the orange sunset glow.
