Cuba: Havana – Museo de la Revolucion
This was the former presidential palace of all Cuban president, but after the revolution it was turned into the Museum of the Revolution. Sumptuous design and decor contrast nicely with exhibits of Che and Fidel conquering the hearts and minds of the people. Outside the museum is the Granma pavilion which preserves the Grandma yacht which Fidel used to get to Cuba from Mexico on (guarded day and night by soldiers). In front of the museum is a nice Soviet SU-100 tank, adding further contrasts to the Belgian-designed neo-classical building and putting “su” into “surreal”.
