Colombia: Honda
Honda is another worthy of stopover colonial town between Medellin and Bogota. Well-preserved colonial center with cobblestone streets, beautiful cathedral (Catedral Nuestra Señora del Rosario) and an equally pretty church, all surrounded with monuments and large tropical trees. The town is also famous for being the hottest place in Colombia and also home to the oldest metal bridge in the country Puente Navarro, now just a rusty metal river crossing. But Honda is often called the “city of bridges” as Magdalena river and its tributaries cut the town into three separate bridge-connected parts. Also not to be missed Plaza el Mercado market, known as “Parthenon of Honda” for its columns.
