Ethiopia: Danakil – Green Pool in Dallol
This absolutely stunning geological feature wasn’t around the first time I was in Dallol in 2015. An totally surreal skylight pool opened up in the middle of an endless salt pan with surreal green color and salt crystals deep down at the bottom. Apparently, underneath the salt crust of the earth around you in Dallol, there is an underground water reservoir, and this is just a window into it!
