Brazil: Iguacu Falls – Belmond das Cataratas Hotel
If you want to have an amazing experience at the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls – you absolutely must stay at the Belmond Iguazu Hotel. Yes it is pricey, and exclusive and belongs to the LVMH portfolio of properties, but it’s absolutely worth every dollar and real. The historic hotel is fully located deep inside the Iguacu National Park. The park opening hours are 9am-6pm, which means that before and after the few lucky residents of the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas have access to all the park viewpoints and trails. Without any crowds! And these are incredible times at sunset and sunrise, when all the amazing tropical wildlife comes out in full (coming in the next posts). The hotel is a true 5-star, with every detail elegantly presented, dark expensive woods, azure pool, bar, gardens, and so on. If you stayed at the Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe – this is the Iguazu Falls counterpart! The hotel was built in 1958 in the Portuguese colonial style. The hotel was the first in Latin America to quality to the Forbes Worlds Best Hotels List in 2018.
