Kenya: Lake Bogoria NP – Hot Springs

Lake Bogoria is another of the salt alkaline Rift Valley lakes of Kenya. Halfway down the east coast of it there is a place of hot springs, probably close to 50-70 of them gushing from the ground and boiling scalding water everywhere. As the lake level has risen dramatically in the past several years, many hot springs got submerged, but there are still plenty on the shore to boil eggs! The best part – as the water is extremely salty – all you need to do is dip the eggs into water to add salt.
