Argentina: Mendoza Wine Region – Bodegas Chandon

There is only one foreign-owned winery in Mendoza, and that’s Domaine Chandon Argentina (owned by LVMH), producing classic sparkling wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the classic champagne tradition recipe (but can’t call them champagne however). Moët & Chandon established the Argentinian subsidiary in 1959 to produce unique sparkling wines in Mendoza Valley and taking the advantage of the local terroirs at 1700m above sea level. The bruts are especially fabulous here, crispy and sharp and very aromatic. The Brut Nature got a 92 points at the 2020 Decanter World Awards.
