Argentina: Salinas Grandes

Salinas Grandes is the Argentinian version of the Bolivian Salar Uyuni (the latter is located about 500km to the north). The vast salt plane lies at the elevation of the (3,450 meters (11,320 feet) above sea level in the heart of the Argentinian altiplano. Salt and potassium are being extracted here and there supposedly vast lithium reserves underneath the salt (Elon probably already bought them). You are allowed to drive onto the flat salt pan with a guide and explore around, including dipping your toes into a salt evaporation channel or jump over it.
