Bahamas/Eleuthera: Ocean Hole
Belize has its world-famous Blue Hole and Eleuthera in Bahamas has a world-unknown Ocean Hole. The latter is a large inland cenote that is nearly bottomless and connects to the ocean deep beneath the island. It was once explored by Jacque Cousteau, a former winter resident of Eleuthera. It’s approximately 80 meters or 250 feet deep. Diving is not allowed here without a special cave diving permit and from outside it looks just as a deep blue circular lake.
