Barbados: Farley Hill National Park

Located in the north-central part of the island, around the highest elevation of above 800m above sea level, the Farley Hill National Park is an area around an old and abandoned sugar plantation estate, Grenade Hall Plantation. The house itself is in ruined and off limits to people, although it looks almost like the ancient temples in Cambodia, overgrown with the rain forest (we actually sneaked in inside for a little peek). The area around the house has some spectacular and grand centuries-old mahogany trees and equally spectacular huge royal palms. Oh, and last but not least were the myriads of super colorful caterpillars!
