Belarus: Minsk – Victory Square
Victory Square is the main landmark in the capital of Belarus. Built in 1954 in the middle of a round square, it has a 38m/125ft high stella with a replica of an Order of Victory at the top to commemorate the victory in the WWII. The granite for the stella came from Ukraine while the bronze reliefs on the four sides were made in Russia. Eternal flame is located in front of the stella in the middle of the square. The two building in the outer part of the square have “The People’s Victory Is Eternal” written on the top of them.
