Brazil: Cuiaba
Moving on to explore the Pantanal and Mato Grosso. The city of Cuiaba is the capital of the Mato Grosso (the size of Texas and also filled with ranchers wearing cowboy hats) and the entry point to the wildlife spectacle of the Pantanal. Cuiaba doesn’t have much in terms of attractions except half a dozen churches, and a couple nice squares and parks. The heat is brutal here with daytime temps at 40C/105F this time of year at the height of the dry season.
