Burundi: Kagera Falls

Kagera Falls or Chutes de la Kagera are a trio of consecutive falls of the Karera River in south central Burundi. The first fall is multi-tiered and about 80m high, the second falls is 50m and is on a different branch of the river. The waters from both falls combine to form the third fall – dripping over the ledge into the valley below and there is a long pedestrian suspension bridge to walk over the falls. The entire site is on the tentative UNESCO World Heritage list.
