Cambodia: Sambor Prei Kuk

Sambor Prei Kuk is another UNESCO World Heritage site in the central Cambodia, 176km southeast from Siem Reap. There are three main groups of temples here, all stand alone Hindu temple towers from 7-9th centuries, i.e. much older then the Angkor Wat. The structures are all bricks, and feature numerous prasats (octagonal towers), shiva lingams, ponds and reservoirs, and isolated lion sculptures – all divided into three main groups – named N, S, and C.
