Canada/Quebec: Ile Bonaventure – Boat Cruising
Ile Bonaventure aka Bonaventure Island lies 3.5km off the town of Gaspe and is an uninhabited reserve protecting one of the largest gannet colonies in the world as well as hundreds of thousands of other seabirds. Cruising around the island’s high cliffs and vertical walls, you witness the various bird colonies – gannets, terns, guillemots, murres, auks, gulls, petrels, puffins, and many others. It’s loud and noisy both on the cliffs and in the air, and it’s better not to look at birds with your mouth wide open.
