Canada/Quebec: Iles de Madeleine – Helicopter to the Ice

The only way to get to the seal is by flying a helicopter from Cap-aux-Meules, the capital of Magdalen Islands, out to the open ice flows of the Atlantic Ocean. From high above, you can the the endless scattering of seals as far the horizon line.
