China: More of Zhangye Danxia Landform
Besides the super spectacular Platform #4 (see previous post), there are three other areas open to public where buses take you and you explore by walking to observation platforms and various wooden walkways. There is a an area known as Seven Colored Hills, where the striations seemingly span seven different color hues. Another platform offers a high vantage point where you get a panorama of colored earth going as far as the eye I can see and tiny tour buses driving along the weaving red roads. The third platform is actually nearly a half-kilometer long walk along the colorful ridge with stripes being almost vertical after the cliffs were geologically uplifted millennia ago.
