Czech Republic: Lednice Palace

The kitschy palace in Lednice was inscribed into UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1996. It’s the largest landscaped park in the country at over 200 km sq. Lednice has been in possession of the House of Liechtenstein (the princes of Liechatensten) since as early as 13th century and developed the land and architecture here over the years in mostly renaissance style. The palace and gardens are beautiful but slightly (or more then slightly) over the top with mishmash of styles and weird gargoyles. It probably didn’t help that since WWII this was in government hands.
