Dem Rep of Congo: Congo River – Congo Grey Parrots
Congo Grey Parrot (Psittacus erithacus) inhabits predominantly the Congo River basin living in dense forested areas along he river’s edge. It’s a medium-sized parrot, weighing up to 400 g, and wingspan of 46–52 cm. The Congo grey parrot is considered to be one of the most accomplished mimics and parrots, when raised by humans, show an amazing ability to mimic people and noisy objects, but in the wild they have never been observed mimicking. Congo grey parrots are very social and live in large territorial groups. And their coloration is actually has up to 50 shades of grey!
