Dem Rep of Congo: Kinshasa – Congo River Rapids

The massive Congo River carries more water then any other river in the world except the Amazon. For over 4,000 km, Congo flows through the Democratic Republic of the Congo as a very broad and calm river dropping only about a foot per mile. But at the Kinshasa/Brazzaville area, the river changes its character and behind a rapid descend toward the ocean over endless rapids. No navigation further downriver is possible from here on. You can come close to the most beautiful parts of rapids below Kinshasa and sit right by the water and enjoyed freshly caught and prepared river fish and river crayfish, while sipping on cold Congolese beer.
