Denmark: Kronborg Slot

Kronborg Slot is a spectacular castle in Helsingor, built by King Eric VII in 1420. It is one of the grandest castles/fortresses in northern Europe and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kronborg has multiple layers of fortifications, starting with motes and outer defensive walls, to massive star-shaped inner walls. Inside all of this stands the magnificent Kronborg Castle.
