El Salvador: Ahuachapan

Yet another colonial town with a beautiful white church and a central square with a market and a park – Ahuachapan. The city was founded by the Mayans in the 5th century. The town is the starting point of the Ruta de las Flores, and the town does burst with flowers in every corner and in every park. The central square is sinking in Lucy jungle greenery, with the whitewashed Iglesia de Guadeloupe church standing on a higher ground above it.
