El Salvador: Metapan
Metapan lies in the very north of El Salvador, not far from the front-border with Guatemala and Honduras. Metapan is famous for its beautiful whitewashed Church of St Peter Apostol. from 1743, one of the oldest churches in the country. The interior of the church is also spectacular, as is the square it’s facing. The town itself is more of a border town, a bit busy and straddling a major traffic route to Honduras.
