England: Norwich
Norwich once was the largest city in England after London and these days it’s considered to be the center of East Anglia. Up to this day, Norwich has more medieval churches than any other city in England besides London, the grandest of them is undoubtedly the Norwich Cathedral that dates back to 1096. Next to Cathedral is the area of Tombland with two ornate gates from the 13th century. Old town streets have plenty of old merchant houses and churches everywhere. Finally, in the center on Norwich, high up in a man-made hill, stand the Norwich Castle built in 1094 by William II.
